How to Hatch Eggs in Climb For Animals Eggs
The full egg-hatching process in Climb For Animals Eggs: place the egg on your base, wait out the countdown, press hatch, and the animal earns Cash.
In Climb For Animals Eggs, hatching happens on your base — not at the nest where you grabbed the egg. Carry the egg back down to your plot and place it, and a hatch countdown starts. When the timer runs out and the game marks the egg ready, press the hatch control, the egg opens, and an animal emerges, ready to earn Cash once you put it on your base. The official how-to-play lists this as the core loop ("Find and hatch Eggs to discover Animals"), and two full playthroughs show the same sequence from placed egg to hatched animal.
Before hatching: the egg you need
The procedure starts from an egg already in hand. In this game, eggs sit in nests on platforms high up in each biome, and you steal one while climbing — then jump all the way down and bring it home. Both playthroughs show the same pattern: grab the egg near the top, leap off the climb, and drop it onto your own base plot.
Nothing starts until the egg is physically placed, so check that you have open space first. Hatched animals occupy base space too, and a full plot leaves you nowhere to put new ones — expanding your base is the official fix. How eggs are found and stolen on the climb is its own topic; the egg locations guide covers the hunting side.
The hatch, step by step
- Bring the egg home. Jump or dive down from the climb and carry the egg to your base. The players in the footage drop straight onto their plots from very high up.
- Place the egg on your base. The countdown begins the moment the egg is placed — early stolen eggs showed timers of 20, 30 or 40 seconds, or about 2 minutes.
- Wait for the ready state. The placed egg displays its remaining time. When it hits zero, the game flags the egg as ready to hatch — both narrators call it out at this point ("my egg is ready"). You can keep training Speed on the treadmill while you wait; both players did exactly that.
- Press hatch on the ready egg. Opening the egg is an explicit action, not an automatic pop — "press hatch right here," as one narrator puts it. The exact on-screen label isn't legible in the footage, and updates occasionally reword interfaces, but both playthroughs used the same press-to-open interaction.
- Collect the animal. The egg opens and an animal appears where the egg sat. If several eggs finish together, you don't have to open them one by one — one player used a hatch-all action and pulled a giraffe, a fish, a bear and an owl in a single go.
How long the hatch countdown takes
There is no single hatch time — the timer scales with the egg:
- Early, low-tier eggs opened fast: 20–40 seconds and around 2 minutes in the footage.
- Mid-tier eggs ran in minutes: readings of 6, 8, 10, 14, 20 and 23 minutes were all seen on placed eggs.
- High-tier eggs took hours: 6, 8, 11 and 12 hours, plus one timer of 778 minutes (about 13 hours). One player's verdict after reaching the top in under an hour: "hatching eggs takes forever."
These are observed examples from two playthroughs, not a fixed per-egg table. Three things changed the timer in the footage:
- A shop purchase — the shop sold a "2x faster hatching" boost alongside money and training boosts.
- Events — limited-time events granted "hatch speed x25," which had one egg ready almost immediately after placement.
- Traits — traits ride on individual eggs: one egg that first showed 8 minutes showed an hour once it had the Rainbow trait. That's a single observation, so treat trait effects as "they can move the timer," not a set rule.
One session also showed a top-tier setup where two eggs that seemed finished couldn't be opened yet — the player was told "I can't hatch them yet, this is the final stage" — and the footage doesn't show what lifts that restriction. If a very high-tier egg refuses to open, that unexplained staging is the one known case.
What happens after the egg opens
- An animal emerges at your base, right where the egg sat. The hatches shown across the two playthroughs produced a dog, a fish, a goat, a giraffe, a bear, an owl, a Gorilla, a Pegasus and a Lava Dragon. Those are the animals that happened to come out — there's no documented egg-to-animal map, so don't count on a specific result from a given egg.
- The animal takes up base space immediately — one player complained a freshly hatched tail was "taking up my park space" — and both players then placed the animal into the base by hand ("put it in"). Whether the game ever places it automatically isn't shown, so expect a placement step after every hatch.
- Once placed, the animal earns Cash continuously. The official description adds that animals "keep earning Cash while you're offline."
- Values swing enormously with progress: a fish in an early session drew a value around 900, one hatch showed about 772, a Lava Dragon produced 59 coins, and a late-game Pegasus was valued at 120B. These are single-session readings, not income rates.
With your animal hatched and placed, the animal placement guide takes over for arranging space and income on your base. And if you're weighing whether a multi-hour timer is worth it, the best eggs to hatch guide compares the options.
